چکیده

Abstract In this research, the feasibility of strengthening self-centering walls by high-performance concrete was investigated through an experimentally validated finite element model. The effects wall’s axial stress and tendons’ prestressing ratios on damage, effectiveness potential approaches were studied 40 independent scenarios, 360 different cases. Using estimated damage from numerical results at compression zone near bottom corners, maximum compressive strain walls’ toe regions estimated. calibrated strain, a practical approach proposed to delimit both damaged height crushed height. heights’ information used investigate two either retrofitting (for walls) or rehabilitating newly constructed walls). Increasing ratio decreased developed in region, whereas did not show significant effects. Moreover, increasing substantially ratio, region increased, opposite effect produced. Based findings it concluded that for with lower (< 0.095), resulted similar outcomes, while higher casting portion HPFRC led sounder/safer designs.

Modeling of Dynamic Behavior and Estimation of Damage Incurred by Self-Centering Rocking Walls

Self-centering rocking walls are known as viable alternatives to typical shear walls, as they provide a number of solutions for eliminating seismic flaws of conventional designs. These rocking walls have a generally positive impact on the seismic behavior of structural systems, but their design makes them susceptible to concrete crushing around their base, which can lead to significantly advers...

Ultra High Performance Self Compacting Concrete

Experiences in the development of Ultra High Performance Concrete found a very high flowability in concrete with low water powder ratio. Because of the high viscosity of the cement paste, compaction was necessary. To improve the compaction characteristics of the concrete the idea of adding coarse aggregate was developed. The first tests showed a good workability of the fresh concrete and a good...

a modified quasi-static model with lateral stiffness deterioration mechanism for self-centering concrete pier

self-centering pier (scp) has been viewed as a remarkable accomplishment which is able to sustain major lateral loading with reduced structure damage in seismic engineering. stiffness deterioration observed in experiment is vital for the seismic performance of self-centering concrete pier. in this contribution, the associated stiffness deterioration with respect to the structural damage is mode...

Experimental Strengthening of the Two-way Reinforced Concrete Slabs with High Performance Fiber Reinforced Cement Composites Prefabricated Sheets

Reinforced concrete structures need to be strengthened and retrofitted for various reasons, including errors during design and/or construction, so in most cases strengthening of structural elements is much more economical than rebuilding the structure. Using HPFRCC with tensile stiffening behavior has been developed to strengthen the concrete structures over the recent few years. In this paper,...
